Can mink velvet coats be ironed?

Jan 07/2022 / news / Author: DongJing

Mink velvet generally cannot be ironed, especially with steam, because high-temperature steam will shrink mink velvet and cause curling. It can cause irreparable damage to the fur, such as shrinking and stiffening, or hair tip buckling. Moreover, ironing fur by non-professionals can't do much. If the rough surface is not flat, you can dip a little water to make the rough surface smooth.

If the surface of the leather board is not flat, it is not something that can be solved by simple ironing. Mink fleece coat must be cleaned and maintained in time, otherwise it will affect the wearing due to oxidation.

Generally, light-colored mink velvet coats should be washed once every one to two years, and darker ones should be washed once every three to four years. The specific washing time depends on the personal wearing condition. It should be noted that these clothes must not be exposed to the sun. The fur will be oxidized and discolored after being irradiated by ultraviolet rays.

If you accidentally sprinkle vegetable soup or sprinkle with water, you should wipe off the dirt on it with a dry towel as soon as possible, and send it to the laundry as soon as possible after natural drying for subsequent treatment.
