How to maintain wool fabric clothing

Jul 23/2021 / news / Author: DongJing

Wool fabrics have excellent wearing properties: stiff body bones, warm and elastic hand feel, taking into account breathability and warmth, and so on. The clothes made of woolen fabrics can show the body shape well without being bloated while taking into account the warmth retention. In the contemporary era where fashion culture is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, woolen fabric coats have almost become a necessity to withstand the harsh winter, but the most annoying phenomenon often occurs, that is, the clothes are soiled.
Next, we will tell you what should be paid attention to when cleaning woolen fabric coats according to the characteristics of woolen fabrics.
1. The woolen texture of the woolen fabric comes from its main ingredient wool, but this can also easily cause the woolen fabric to be deformed and shed during washing. At the same time, if you squeeze and rub the woolen fabric with your hands during washing, It will damage the fluffy feel on the surface of the woolen fabric, resulting in shrinkage of the knitted fabric and surface pilling. This process will cause the warmth of the woolen fabric to decrease, so I recommend sending it to a dry cleaner for dry cleaning, which can not only maintain the wool surface. The fluffy feel of the coat can also keep the shape of the coat fabric from being damaged.
2. If the woolen fabrics are accidentally stained with stains, they should be cleaned in time. If it is left for a long time and then cleaned, the stain will stay on the wool fiber for longer, which is not conducive to the cleaning of the woolen fabric. Secondly, the friction on the stain will inevitably be unavoidable during the cleaning process, resulting in the wool on the woolen surface. Fiber is damaged.
3. Avoid machine washing as far as possible during the washing process of woolen fabrics. As wool is prone to felting shrinkage in water temperature higher than 30°C, the water temperature should not exceed 40°C during washing. In addition, wool is more acid-resistant but not alkali-resistant (alkali easily decomposes the disulfide group in cystine of lanolin and damages the hair quality.) Therefore, try to use neutral or weakly acidic detergents. Oxidants can also destroy disulfide groups and damage wool, so woolen fabrics generally cannot be bleached with chlorine bleaching and other oxidative bleaching.
4. Woolen fabric clothing is easy to be contaminated with dust for a long time, it is best to remove it as soon as possible. If it takes a long time, it is easy and difficult to remove. In this case, you can't use a brush to brush, and the scales on the surface of the wool will be damaged. Therefore, you can only tap it with a small stick and repeat it several times until it is removed.
5. Unscientific storage of woolen fabric coats will easily cause the clothes to crease. Use a steam iron to adjust to a low temperature and iron them away from the clothes. Otherwise, the fibers on the woolen fabric surface will be burned and the surface of the woolen fabric will be lost. type. During the ironing process, the fabric should be given proper humidity and the wrinkles should be leveled. The editor recommends ironing after putting a towel on the woolen fabric, so that it will neither damage the clothes nor leave ironing marks.
6. Woolen fabric is easy to be eaten by insects when it is placed for a long time, so we need to dry the woolen coat in the shade in a ventilated place, then put it in the cabinet and add a little desiccant to keep it dry and avoid insects.
Although woolen fabrics are warm and comfortable to wear, they are prone to pilling and insects. We should do a good job of maintenance to maintain a long service life.
